Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Meet your Wildrace Africa kenya budget camping tour Guide and transfer to Arusha for lunch and then on to Ngorongoro Crater, one of the fabled geologic formations of Africa. This collapsed volcano, or caldera, creates a lush Garden of Eden environment for a large and diverse wildlife population. Your lodge hugs the rim of the 11,800-foot-deep crater. Each room has a spectacular view of the plains and forest below.

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (Dinner):

DAY 3

Ngorongoro

After breakfast, all-day game viewing with a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is a superb, open place to view wildlife. Here you may document natural animal behavior (such as mating, fighting and hunting) better than anywhere else in Africa.

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (Breakfast and Dinner):

DAY 4

Ngorongoro

In addition to the wildlife, you may encounter the Maasai on today’s all-day excursion. The red-clad, regal pastoralists tend their herds of cattle, sheep, goats and donkeys. Watch out for aggressive kites swooping in to share your picnic lunch.

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (Breakfast and Dinner):

DAY 5

Serengeti National Park

It’s a short and scenic drive to Serengeti National Park, via Olduvai Gorge. The Leakey family recorded stunning discoveries here of human evolution dating back nearly two million years. Visit the museum and enjoy a picnic lunch. Continue on to the Serengeti with game drives enroute to camp.

Kirawira Serena Tented Camp (Dinner):

DAY 6

Serengeti National Park

Morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti (endless plain in Swahili). Vast herds of antelope, marauding predators, incredible bird life and the Big Five (elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo and rhino) are found in the Serengeti ecosystem. You’ll live amid the wildlife in the Hemingway-esque Kirawira Tented Camp. This luxurious permanent tented camp is the epitome of colonial-style luxury.

Kirawira Serena Tented Camp (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner):

DAY 7

Serengeti National Park

During the heat of the day, much of the wildlife rests under shady acacia trees, in thickets or in underground burrows. You’ll mirror the animal behavior with early morning and late afternoon game drives. Under the noon-day sun, you may lounge at the pool. Or just take in the panorama in a hand-carved rocking chair on your private veranda. Very civilized, indeed!

Kirawira Serena Tented Camp (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner):

DAY 8

Serengeti National Park

Life in the Serengeti is a complex and dynamic ecological system in which all the plants and animals interact with each other and their environment. No organism is static or isolated, including humans on safari. We respect the complex web of life in the Serengeti and make every effort to leave a small footprint on this environmental jewel. Morning and afternoon game drives today.

Kirawira Serena Tented Camp (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner):

DAY 9

Serengeti National Park

Final day in the magnificent Serengeti. Perhaps you’ll catch up with a cheetah, observe the graceful giraffe or stare into the eyes of a menacing cape buffalo during today’s two outings.

Kirawira Serena Tented Camp (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner):

DAY 10

Lake Manyara

After breakfast, drive through the Serengeti enroute to Lake Manyara. Remember: Animals have the right of way! Arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. Nestled into the steep Rift Valley wall, its shallow alkaline lake is surrounded by forests of fig and mahogany, open grasslands and huge, ancient baobab trees. Stretch your legs with an escorted afternoon nature walk.

Lake Manyara Serena Lodge (Lunch and Dinner):

DAY 11

Simba River

Morning and afternoon game drives where you’re sure to see hippos and elephants in or along the Simba River. The 6,000-pound hippo remains submerged during the day to keep its sensitive skin cool and moist, only emerging to forage on the lake flats at night. Also at the hippo pool, look for many of the park’s 380 bird species, including ibis, saddlebill stork, avocet, teal, and the African fish eagle.

Lake Manyara Serena Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner):

DAY 12

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, morning game drive on the way to Tarangire National Park. Wildlife is drawn to this park by the year-round source of water in the Tarangire River. Large herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope populate this area. Afternoon game drive.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge (Lunch and Dinner):

DAY 13

Tarangire National Park

Morning and afternoon game drives. The most striking feature of Tarangire is its many baobab trees. Their colossal forms are matched by their utility. Baobabs provide shade, shelter, water and food. They may also be the oldest life form in Africa, living thousands of years. An Arabian legend tells us that “the devil plucked up the baobab, thrust its branches into the earth and left its roots in the air.” Hence, this useful provider is known as the upside down tree.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner):

DAY 14

Tarangire National Park

Morning and afternoon game drives. You may encounter the Oryx with its distinctive scimitar horns. Tarangire also features herds of eland, the largest antelope.

DAY 15

After breakfast, drive to Arusha for lunch and transfer to the airport for your flight home or safari and/or beach extension.
