Hop into Lake Manyara National Park to spend a night in the company of tree climbing lions and cruise into Ngorongoro Crater, which is a world hidden away from the world. Leave civilization and its hustles on the rim and descend hundreds of meters into the floor of the crater. Mingle with Maasai herdsmen who fearlessly graze their cattle next to wildlife.
Leave Ngorongoro Crater after sighting lions, leopards, elephants, zebras and wildebeests so you can explore the northern part of Serengeti. This safari in Tanzania promises a luxurious experience. Itinerary
Day 1 – Arusha
Fly into Tanzania through Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our ground representative will be waiting for you. A road transfer will follow, to the scenic foothills of Mount Meru. Along the way, our representative will brief you about this wildlife safari. Arusha is an agricultural and tourism hub, with numerous scenic places such as Nauru River. Check in at the plush Arusha Coffee Lodge. It sits on a large coffee farm started in the 1900s. The resort has modern facilities and spacious rooms. It is a family friendly hotel. Explore its fruit gardens or just relax in your room enjoying the view of Mount Meru.
Day 2 – Lake Manyara National Park (2& 3)
Wake up to a breathtaking countryside with trees dancing to a breeze from the mountain. Prepare for an action packed safari after breakfast. Leave Arusha Coffee Lodge for Arusha Airport for an Air Excel flight to Manyara at 8000hrs. When you land, board a road transfer from Manyara Airstrip to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. View birds such as vultures, storks and swallows as you drive through the plains and forests around Lake Manyara.
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge sits in a forest of mahogany trees. The tree houses are raised on stilts, and they have large windows and private verandas. The simple design of these houses marries them with the natural vegetation in the property. Check in and relax in your tree house or on its veranda.
Explore Lake Manyara and its national Park the following day. View its unique tree-climbing lions, flamingos, pelicans, elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, impalas and Maasai giraffes.
Day 4 – Ngorongoro
After breakfast at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, enjoy a three and a half hours road transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. This resort has spacious cottages overlooking the crater. These cottages have an African structure that resembles traditional huts. Inside, they have modern facilities with a touch of Victorian style in the furnishings such as leather seats and Victorian bathtubs.
Explore Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon. The caldera is over two million years old, and its floor is home to about 25,000 animals. The species to see here include black-maned lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas and jackals. A soda lake occupies the centre of the crater’s floor. You also encounter Maasai herders grazing their cattle in this attraction.
Day 5 – Serengeti (5, 6& 7)
Leave Ngorongoro Crater Lodge after breakfast for your trip to Serengeti National Park. You will be driven to Manyara Airstrip for a 0800hrs flight. The airstrip is about one and a half hours away from the lodge. Catch an Air Excel flight from Manyara Airstrip to Lobo Airstrip, which is in the northern plains of the national park.
Check in at Serengeti Migration Camp, a luxurious tented lodge with spectacular view of the plains. The rooms’ furnishings and facilities include writing desks, fans and en-suite bathrooms. They have large wooden verandas that let guests enjoy the quiet forest of acacia trees and Grumeti River. Serengeti Migration Camp has 20tents. The honeymoon suite is aptly positioned for privacy, and it has a private pool.
There’s no routine here. Enjoy game drives in the morning and in the afternoon. See animals such as wildebeests, zebras, elephants, lions, leopards, hippos etc. You have three days to explore the land of the great wildebeest migration from dawn to dusk. After a day’s excursion, relax on the deck of your tent and marvel at the sunset as animals leave the plains for the night.
Day 8 – Arusha
Have breakfast at Serengeti Migration Camp. Later, board a road transfer vehicle to Lobo Airstrip for your flight to Arusha. The flight will leave the northern plains of Serengeti at 1005hrs and arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport at 1145hrs. Catch your flight out of the country. Take a piece of Africa with you in the fond memories of the places you visited and animals you saw, as well as gigabytes of images in your camera.
